Cerca BT
Typeface

This is a display typeface that showcases the architectural legacy between the cities of Bogota and Montreal. The goal was to find similarities between the two cities.
The typeface was born from a collaboration for the 16th issue of Pica Magazine, UQAM's student design magazine, with the theme of "Héritage" .
In order to communicate the concept of legacy, we decided to draw inspiration from our own context, being from Bogota and living in Montreal, and translate the architectural legacies from both cities into a typeface. We used the commonly seen forged iron fences as the core of the letters since ”Cerca", in spanish, translates to fences or fencing.
